Consultations
We are often contacted by individuals and other professionals with specific questions involving a troubling situation or a concern or problem, for which they would like immediate advice and guidance. Consultations are face-to-face sessions conducted at The Arlington Center offices, and typically last 55-60 minutes (90 minute sessions in some cases).
Consultation sessions are often helpful to:
- provide immediate guidance in a time of crisis
- develop a “game plan” in dealing with a difficult child, parenting issue, vocational, educational, emotional or relational issue
- provide a second opinion regarding diagnostic issues and treatment
- provide feedback on medication and the need for a psychiatric consultation
- give feedback or interpretation on previous psychological testing or education testing
- help guide career or vocational choice and direction
- assess crisis concerns and the need for intervention
- provide strategies and resources for a particular issue (school difficulties, relational problems, addictive patterns, emotional troubles, specific trauma)
